Founded in 1976, Halti is a well-known Finnish brand. On the path toward sustainability
Through its Think Ahead sustainability program, Halti is committed to social, economic, and environmental responsibility — particularly reducing its carbon footprint and increasing the use of responsible materials both in Finland and in the countries where Halti operates.
Halti is part of the bluesign program. The use of recycled fibers, traceable materials, bio-based water repellents, RDS-certified down, and mulesing-free wool, as well as timeless product design, all enhance the responsibility of Halti products. When, for example, a jacket lasts from season to season without looking “outdated,” the resources used in its production do not go to waste. Halti products are designed to stand the test of time and use! Halti products have also been free of PFC compounds for years.
Halti’s headquarters, which meets WWF Green Office requirements, is located in Finland, and all design work takes place there. The 3D design process reduces textile material waste, lowers logistics emissions, and supports continuous, creative product development. The Browzwear 3D design software helps minimize fabric waste in clothing design. Halti is a member of amfori BEPI, which enables the monitoring of environmentally impactful points in the supply chain. Halti is also committed to achieving the emission levels required by SBTi. Domestic deliveries are handled through Posti’s carbon-neutral services.
A reliable and responsible subcontractor network
Halti’s longest-standing subcontractors have worked with the company for over 40 years. Some accessories are made in Finland, while most products are manufactured in China, Vietnam, and Bangladesh. Italy, Ukraine, and Lithuania are also currently among the countries of Halti’s subcontractors. Halti regularly audits its subcontractors’ factories, which are required to comply with BSCI and BEPI standards.
