Thanks to the Thinsulate liner, these mitts give better protection from both wind and frost. The technical liner transfers moisture and dries fast, while the wool used as the main material brings in warmth.

Compared to regular wool, merino is less itchy: most people who find ordinary sheep’s wool itchy can wear merino without any problems. The secret lies in the fibres themselves, the individual hairs: a merino sheep’s wool fibre is thinner and its scales are considerably smaller than in ordinary sheep’s wool.

North Outdoor’s knitted products are made with extremely little waste material: each panel is knitted to exactly the right size, and no fabric is cut during manufacturing.

Airing and steam pressing are the best ways to care for and freshen up merino wool garments. Machine wash at 30 °C on a very gentle or wool programme. Recommended spin speed no more than 800 rpm. Wool detergent, a very light spin and washing in a laundry bag help the garment last longer. Do not use fabric softener. Reshape the garment while damp if needed. Iron at no more than one dot (110 °C) if the steam pressing setting is not available.
