The 9 cm thick Dura 6.5R utilizes Exped’s Synmat Plus technology: a combination of synthetic fiber inside the air compartments, and a reflective layer that reflects a part of your body heat right back at you. The fiber prevents air from circulating between the areas heated by your body and the air cooled by the outside air. The R value describing the insulation is 6.4 and the lowest operating temperature recommended by the manufacturer is -30C.
The Dura series has more durable surface fabrics than other R-series pads: 75 denier per sleeper and 170 denier ripstop fabric at the bottom - the difference is 20 to 40 denier for ultra-light substrates.

A Schnozzel pump bag is included to fill the base without the need for blowing. Blowing draws moisture into the substrate and the use of a pump bag reduces fainting. Electric pumps are even more practical -check our range here!
