Children's warm base layer, made of top quality Merino wool.
Devold Expedition shirt: a double-layer, merino wool base layer designed for extreme warmth.
Expedition base layers are at level four of five in Devold’s warmth rating system.
Merino wool garments made for cold conditions are exceptionally warm and functional even when damp. Unless completely soaked, the base layer can often be dried simply by wearing it after arriving at camp. Merino wool requires less washing than synthetic fabrics and naturally resists odor build-up.
- Double-layer material (Devold Aquaduct) enhances moisture transfer toward the outer layer
- The two layers are sewn together, so the structure isn’t noticeable when worn
- Inner layer: 100% merino wool, fiber diameter 18.7 microns
- Outer layer: 90% merino wool (20.5 microns) and 10% polyamide
- Flat seams for comfort
- Thick 235 g/m² fabric provides excellent insulation
- Made in Europe
Machine washable at 40°C, delicate or wool cycle; no spin cycle; use wool detergent
Did you know? Regular sheep’s wool fibers have a scaly surface structure, while merino fibers are much smoother. That’s why even those who usually find wool itchy often find merino wool products pleasantly soft against the skin.
Take good care of your Merino apparel - regular detergents are a bit over the top for use with wool, so we recommend using Nikwax Wool Wash, regardless of whether you wash your apparel in a machine or by hand.
