Karttakeskus Sallatunturi 1:25000

The “Outdoor map, Sallatunturi 1:25 000” is printed on water-resistant synthetic material and packed in a cardboard box. In the area of the newly established Salla National Park, a comprehensive hiking trail and rest areas are already in place. In the immediate vicinity of the Sallatunturi tourist center, you can go hiking and mountain biking, as well as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, winter cycling and winter walking in winter. There are also more deserted parts of the park where you can hike your own trails. The nationwide UKK hiking route runs through the area, and the map shows the part of it called Hautajärvi to Sallatunturi, called the Topsakantaipale, as well as the continuation of the route to northern Aatsinki. The outdoor map covers the national park’s battery and also extends to the church village of Salla and Aatsinki in the north, to the Russian border in the east and to the northern starting point of Karhunkierros to Hautajärvi in the south. The material of the map is completely waterproof and can withstand almost unlimited folding, and it does not tear during normal map use. The properties are also preserved in the cold and heat. The map is pleasant to the touch and lighter than printed on paper. In addition to terrain data, the two-sided map includes huts, routes and other camping services, as well as places to eat and stay. Ten sights or experiences from its area have been added to the map, which are described in a few sentences on the border of the map in Finnish and English. The border of the map also contains the coordinates of all the sheds in the area as well as information about the deviation. The exact scale of the map 1:25 000 (1 cm on the map = 250 m in the terrain) is well suited for navigating the dense route of the Sallatunturi area.
