Karttakeskus Ranua Litokaira Livo Topokartta

A 1:50 000 waterproof map. Marshlands, forests, rivers and bogs.

Printed in 2022. The double-sided map “Ranua Litokaira Livo 1:50,000” covers vast wilderness areas on the borderlands of Ranua, Pudasjärvi and Ii municipalities south of the center of Ranua. The heart of the area is Litokaira, which is Europe’s largest swamp and forest wilderness south of the Arctic Circle. In addition, the map shows the branches of Siuruanjoki, Livojoki and Kivijoki, as well as the southeast villages of Ranua. The region is popular among experienced hikers, hunters, fishermen and bridgers. Topo maps are folded terrain maps of Finland printed on water-resistant and tear-resistant material. The maps can withstand heavy use and folding, they won’t wear out. The basic material is the terrain database of the Land Surveying Institute, and the data content corresponds to traditional paper terrain maps. The layout of topographic maps has been adapted to the needs of the hiker. In addition, deserted and reserved areas are marked on the maps with symbols, and the map material also continues on the Norwegian and Swedish sides of the border. The topo map is the best choice for those areas of Lapland that are popular with hikers, fishermen and hunters, for which no outdoor maps have been published and for getting around you have had to acquire several traditional terrain maps.
